Greatest School No Exceptions

Rating: 1.2/5 (100 ratings)
Introduction
No questions asked, Stanford is the best place possible to go to school. From the grassy knoll by the two Olympic sized heated outdoor swimming pools, to the Spanish-styled Quad and the hiking in the foothills, its the most breathtaking campus in the nation.

Campus Life and Social Life
Fraternities, societies, and clubs create most of the social life. Although Stanford is in Palo Alto, few students actually venture out to the local bar scene. Most prefer to stay on campus where the alcohol flows freely and the partying can go all night long. San Francisco is always an option when people feel they need a break from the campus scene.

Academics
I took a Law and Economics seminar which featured a different guest lecturer each week. We always had other professors sit in and debate the issues with the guest-speakers. One week I got into an debate with two of the visiting professors, only to discover after class that one of them was head of the Econ department and the other was the first American to win the Nobel Prize in Economics. Only at Stanford.

Comments

Ditto the "in closing." Stanford has started a new financial aid program that absorbs tuition and fees for families with income of < $45,000 per year, and tuition for families w/ < $100,000. If you get in, there's no excuse not to take advantage of the Ivy-par academics.
