study hard, party harder...and hardest

Rating: 4/5 (47 ratings)
Introduction
Didnt have a chance at MIT or Harvard. I did not get into Boston College, Tufts or Weasley. Northeastern was lame with their 5 year program. Boston University did not give enough $ and did not like all the pavement campus area. Emaneul was too religous. Simmons College had too much estrogen. Emerson College had too many weirdo freaks. Suffolk was too urban. Did not apply anywhere else. Boston is the place to go to school.

I had issues with every school. Suffolk gave me a good academic scholarship and I like the area it is in. People seem rather normal, college students

Campus Life and Social Life
I do not ike the urban campus. However, unless you go to BC, Tufts, MIT, or Harvard, you do not really find traditional campuses in Boston. Plus, every school but Suffolk and Emerson is outside of Boston.

Everyone is friendly or at least approachable.

Girls here are pretty and dumb. I do not like that.

Guys here party hard. Its fun...

Weekends are fun, especially going out. Tough to get into clubs and bars though.
Academics
Homework is frequent... though many do not do it. They fail.

Tests are tough. Study. You will pass and do well.

Stay away from math professors.

Get a good academic advisor.

Professors care about your success. They get made when students are apathetic or indifferent. They are easy to reach. Have most of their cell phone numbers.

No TA's really unless you take an intro course called SU101.

Low competition, which sucks. Honors program students are very bright and very competitve. The most intelligent students here are very competitve. Most are not though. You can figure out which prof to take to get these type of students that are competitive in your class.

Workload overall is fair. Much more than HS for sure.

Student Body
See above.

Campus life is good. Living in dorms is fun. Weekends are crazy depending where you go. Once in awhile you find students staying in to do work. Most of the time this is done during the week.

In Closing...
Suffolk is good. I may transfer, but its grown on me alot. I just want more competition and more emphasis on school spirit.

President HW Bush came to campus and spoke last semester.. that was cool. This year, speakers have been pretty good.
