Bing Life
IntroductionHonestly, anyone can find his or her niche here at Binghamton. Artsy, Hippie, Party Animal, Sporty, whatever- there are all types of people here. I’d recommend looking carefully at what majors Binghamton has to offer. Harper excels at their liberal arts majors, but there is not an infinite amount; you should carefully consider your major when applying here, since some appealing majors are not offered.
Campus Life and Social LifeThere's a lot of social potential on our campus, from Late Night Binghamton to Bearcats Basketball games. Weekends are great, since downtown is only a $3 cab away (unless you catch the free bus), and staying on campus gives you opportunities to chill with your friends in other dorm communities. Late Niter Bing is awesome, with fun games and chill activities and not-yet-released movies being shown.

AcademicsAll of the Harpur departments are great (and same for Watson Engineering, Human Development and the School of Management, from what I hear). The professors are very involved with their students, and if a lecture has many students in it, there is usually a discussion section with a TA for that class, giving more one-on-one time for students to get help.
Student BodyBinghamton has a reputation of having mostly Jewish Long Islanders, but that is only party true. There are SO many other types of people, from all over the state (and some from around the country, even from around the world). There are many types of people that go here, so one cannot pinpoint a "typical" type.
In Closing...This is an awesome school, and everyone should give it a chance- it's a less-expensive price for an Ivy League education.
