Great for Academics and fun!
IntroductionBinghamton is a great place with great academics and lots of fun. I chose it after going on a tour that showed me all the ins and outs and explained all the great aspects of the school and after speaking to the advisor in the department I was interested in. Students who aren't interested in having everything they want in a college right there at their finger tips should stay away from Binghamton. :o)
Campus Life and Social LifeThere is ALWAYS something to do at Binghamton. There are parties and bars. We have division 1 sports, there are over 200 student clubs and organizations, there are movies on campus every weekend for free, movies in the area are dirt-cheap for students, etc. This is the kind of place that has something for everyone. You're only bored if you really, truly want to be.

AcademicsBinghamton has great academics and holds itself up to pretty high standards. I am kind of biased when it comes to deciding which departments are great and which ones suck. I am a human development major so I think we're the best and we have the best people (we really do). However, math and science scare me to death so would pretty much do everything possible to steer clear of those. All the professors I have had have been terrific. The professors here are really there for the students, willing to help and get to know them if there is an interest. TA's are really helpful and often a little less intimidating. However, I haven't had too much interaction with them. The workload can sometimes be tremendous but you've gotta learn time management at some point, right? It’s always fair.
Student BodyThere is no "typical" student here at Binghamton. Students come from all walks of life, all over the country, all over the world. We've got the stereotypical jocks, nerds, preppy kids, etc. With the demand for all the different kinds of clubs and activities, it is quite evident that students on this campus are into everything!
In Closing...Binghamton has been a great place for me to live, learns, and has fun. I've made amazing friends here and I wouldn't change my college decision for the world!!!
