Where Success Is A Tradition...

Rating: 2/5 (59 ratings)
Introduction
SUNY Fredonia is the absolute perfect fit. The campus is not too big and definitely not too small. It's perfect! The campus is gorgeous, it's definitely the most gorgeous campus I've seen throughout my visits. It's been totally redesigned with a Starbucks & the University Commons (HUGE bookstore, Convenience Store, Banking, and the best of all--the Cranston Marche. Best food EVER! And of course it is gorgeous inside. If you are a student that does not like to work && have fun...then this school is definitely not for you. Orientation is a blast, so definitely go! You will meet so many people just at Orientation alone! The environment is great, the people are great, and the dorms are perfect.

Campus Life and Social Life
Partying? Hell yes. Sports? Of course. Clubs? We have an amazingly large variety of clubs...anything from S.T.E.P.S. to Guitar Club to Greek Life. Weekends are the best. There are always a ton of people to have fun with, but a lot of people go home as well. We get great concerts every year. We've had Ben Folds before, and this year we are getting Talib Kweli for FredFest! Fredfest is the most fun experience ever. If you don't attend...well, really no student doesn't attend. We also have really awesome radio stations. We're not too far from the Galleria Mall, and there is a shuttle...which is such a fun weekend outing. Downtown we have BJ's which is extremely fun, and Sunny's...let's just say don't go to Sunny's alone. We also have an awesome athletics center...Steele Hall. Don't worry, there's always Frat Parties & House Parties. What would college be without them?

Academics
The Professors at Fredonia really care about every student. They want you to succeed. The classes are not overhwelmingly big so that you can get assistance if you need it. The TA's? Just get on their good side...they grade hard just to show off to the Professors. Seriously. You need to work hard in college, don't expect it to be a breeze. Fredonia is known for it's amazing Communications, Music, and Art programs, and the workload is fairly low the first year. Some notable alumni include David Mittlefheldt (a NASA Scientist), Benjamin Franklin Goodrich (founder of BF Goodrich Tires), James McGraw (found of McGraw-Hill), Mary McDonnell (actress), Brian Frons (President of Disney-Daytime ABC), and Wendy Straub (Best-Selling author). Student Body
Clubs: http://www.fredonia.edu/studentlife/stulife.asp

The student body is extremely diverse...people come from all over to attend Fredonia. We love our Blue Devils, and everyone loves to go watch games. If you ever walk into a dining hall or into a classroom, you are guaranteed to know at least a couple of people, which is the great thing about Fredonia. There is 24 hour visitation between the different residence halls, which makes up for the non co-ed dorms for incoming freshman. The Social Life is perfect. You make it what you want it to be. People are so friendly at Fredonia, and I don't think I've heard of any crime on the campus before. It's so easy to meet people. You can just walk down your hall and pop your head in someone's room and ask if they want to go to dinner or lunch. You are bound to find someone. Recognized fraternities on campus include Alpha Phi Omega, Delta Chi, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and Tau Kappa Epsilon. Recognized sororities include Delta Phi Epsilon, Sigma Gamma Phi Arethusa, and Sigma Kappa, the Greek Life is very active.

In Closing...
Honestly, you will love it at Fredonia. Check it out! The number of undergrads right now is 5,043, and there are 389 postgraduates. Some, but not all, of the buildings on campus include Reed Library, Michael C. Rockefeller Arts Center, Fenton Hall, Maytum Hall, The Williams Center, Gregory Hall and Nixon Hall. Fredonia is a great place to head-start your career, and you will see the benefits after you graduate. Go to www.fredonia.edu to see for your self.
