Cold Cold Chilly Cold!
IntroductionI’m from Los Angeles, CA. I came here with 2 sweatshirts, 2 pairs of long pants, not really knowing what the cold was. Never seen snow before. Syracuse is a really old town. Lot of brick buildings. The city is bad. It’s pretty ghetto. You always here about people getting shot and mugged. I pretty much don’t leave campus. I go to Armory Square occasionally.
There are sometimes movies on the quad. There are theaters all over the place. There’s bunch of clubs you can join. There’s lots of stuff you can do that doesn’t involve partying.
Campus Life and Social LifeIt’s kind of a small campus. Every thing here is really localized. Anything you want to do is basically around the campus.
Greek life is great. There are always events going on, there’s always activities to do. It’s so much fun. When you walk around campus you always know people. There are a lot of hook ups. And it’s awesome.
AcademicsClasses are pretty tough. I’m pre-med, so I have to take organic chemistry. When I’m not partying, I’m studying. I’m also picking up Chemistry and double majoring in Russian, which makes it tough. In my Russian class there are only 5 kids. Most of them at my junior level are kid of small, which is nice. My teachers usually know who I am. There are also TA’s available if you need extra help with something.
Student BodyA lot of the girls are kind of rich and spoiled. Stuck up, kind of snobbish. Way different than California. A lot of people here are very materialistic. They have to drive nice cars and have nice clothes all the time. There’s a lot of drinking. There’s a bar where a lot of the teachers go and it’s cool you can just have a drink with them.A lot of my friends who are really smart also party a lot too.
In Closing...I wish I had known how much it snows here and how cold it really gets! It’s get very cold here!!!
