Great dorms @ Syracuse

Rating: 2/5 (80 ratings)
Introduction
My favorite thing about Syracuse would probably be just having a good time. Being able to relax and some of the classes are really cool. There’s a lot of people here I get along with.
My least favorite thing would be the long winter in Syracuse. I like snowboarding and stuff but you could be going to school somewhere where the weather was nicer.
I came here because of the art facilities and because I liked the campus feel.

Campus Life and Social Life
I think it’s a good looking campus. You learn some things by looking at this campus. It’s kind of disjointed. There’s a row of the classic buildings that were all built during a certain time period and they have kept adding on.
It’s cool you can hang out in the frat scene, but you don’t have to be in it.
Freshman year I lived in a great dorm. Every body was really cool and social. It was an upperclassmen dorm and a lot of the older kids would take us out and show us where to go which was cool.

Academics
Most of my professors are friendly. They all know your name. I have teacher that comes up once a week from Brooklyn - he’s really friendly. In the lecture halls you don’t really get to know anybody’s name. Professors that you do need to know you get to know. In my major they have a pretty strict attendance policy. If you miss more than 1 class they are going to hold it against you. Most of my classes are pretty challenging, except for the mandatory classes like pysch and the writing class you have to take. Those are more like high school classes.

Student Body
There are definitely a lot of people from all over. There are a lot of kids that get financial aid that come here. But as far as states schools are concerned there is definitely a wealthier population here. Some kids are cliquish in terms of people they might have known before school here or kids from the area. Most people are open to meeting new people. It’s pretty easy to meet new friends. Alcohol helps.
It’s pretty easy to hookup. It depends on what time of night it is. It’s more towards the end of the night. It’s not too hard. My first impression of the school was that it is a nice fun campus. A lot of girls. I had a really fun night when I came and visited. The girls are a little stuck up, but they are pretty fun and relaxed. They know how to have a good time. They are pretty cute. Mostly northeast girls.

In Closing...
The city is alright. You really don’t have too much of a connection to the city. At the university it is pretty contained. I would say come in with an open mind and you’ll have a good time. It really isn’t too hard. Most of the RA’s are pretty relaxed. You can have a good time in your dorms.
