Big City School, Friendly Students

Rating: 1/5 (23 ratings)
Introduction
Temple Univesity Main Campus is a great place for students who are self initiating, comfortable in the city and ready for and able to sort through hundreds of opportunities. There is something on campus for everyone from the serious to the playful. The Recreation Center has classes and equipment for student use as part of the fees - a great deal. There's so much going on that you can't possibly see or do 1/2 of it and most of the faculty are pretty interested in students.

Campus Life and Social Life
Freshman who live on campus have options for on-campus movies, late nights in the Underground and other concerts and plays. But the place is pretty quiet unless you're a partier - and I don't know where they go, I just know many of them come back in the wee hours of the morning making lots of noise. Once you hook up with some friends who are like you, you can find lots to do together.
Academics
Temple has great arts - music, dance, drama, visual arts, videography in communications. I hear Liberal Arts is pretty good and sociology and history are popular with some. Education is a big school so they must be doing something right. They have some nice profs in education and in music and in psychology. Workload depends on your major - arts students work really hard.

Student Body
Students aren't typical - they come from all over the world and are of all ages. A lot of students do come from Philadelphia though, and they know the city and are good to know.

In Closing...
If you're ready for a big school, this one is worth a look.
