One Big Happy Family!

Rating: 3/5 (77 ratings)
Introduction
You have to factor in a lot of time to study and do homework and never be afraid to ask for help! The course loads for most majors are insane! This school is not a "Walk in the Park". Far from it actually! We are not a bunch of hick farmers like most people think. But if you really want to learn something and get your money's worth, A&M is a great school!

Campus Life and Social Life
It only takes one word to meet anyone on or around campus. "Howdy!" It's how we know you are family! If you have to ask about A&M's sports, you must be a Nazi! A&M is about 90% sports. If you don't play a sport yourself, then you are a die-hard fan. (And people wonder why Kyle Field is so big!) The clubs and bars are mostly country music and rustic. Weekends start on Thursday nights so there is always a party or event to go to. If there is not a Football game during the weekend, most people go home or on weekend trips.

Academics
A&M is big on Engineering, Agriculture and Life Sciences, Architecture, Education and Human Development, Science and Geosciences, Liberal Arts/Government and Public Service, Veterinary Medicine, and Business. There are a lot more majors offered at A&M, but most are very small and you have a hard time getting the classes you need. For the most part the professors are very nice and will work with you if you need help. However, there are the occasional dinosaurs that just give you a lecture, assign homework and give tests. It is almost never a good idea to take more than four classes because the course load is exausting!

Student Body
Most of the students are very friendly and it is very easy to meet a new friend every day. Most of the students are rather attractive. I have never had a problem finding a nice looking cowboy to dance with on Thursday nights!

In Closing...
Texas A&M, more than anything, is about Traditions. We have a lot of pride and respect in our school Traditions. (And there are a lot of them!) We have a saying here that if something is done more than twice, it's a tradition!

One last thing... The Aggie Honor Code: "An Aggie does not lie, cheat, or steal or tolerate those who do." Every student is held to these words but our sense of family pride upholds it nicely.
