Texas A&M Rocks

Rating: 4.1/5 (18 ratings)
Introduction
The one piece of advice I want to start with when it comes to Texas A&M is: learn how to study, college style. Anyone from a small town or small private school will be overwhelmed by the course load and size of the campus. I chose Texas A&M because of the history and tradition. There are so many traditions at Texas A&M that one needs to go to 'Fish Camp" to understand what life at Texas A&M is all about. A Freshman needs Fish Camp to survive that first year. But students with a B-C average in high school can succeed at Texas A&M...just know that you must do well on your SATs and know how to study. I can't emphasize that part of college enough.

Campus Life and Social Life
Sports, Partying, and University Boulevard are top notch! You can't beat the wings from Wings-n-More. If a person takes only Monday-Wednesday and Tuesday-Thursday classes, leaving Friday free...a typical weekend starts on Thursday night! Thursday, a movie and restaurant is a good, typical bet. Crowds are smaller, which makes it easier to talk to a date. Friday can be spent around the apartment swimming pool, maybe picking up a volleyball game or basketball game on a nearby court. Friday night can be spent on University Boulevard at one of a dozen different bars and eateries. The Dixie Chicken, Dudley's Draw, and the Dry Bean Saloon are great places to get a cold drink and enjoy some nostalgic scenes wth some nostalgic drinking music. But don't forget Yell Practice in the Fall on Friday nights. Saturday is for football and Saturday night is for celebrating another Aggie win! Sunday is for church and the library...none of these are bad places to meet a date. Heck, you may meet a smart girl in church and then take her to the library to 'study' with her' in a cubicle.

Academics
Profesors in the smaller academic areas of the school are more accessible. Biology, Chemistry, English, etc. are not very accessible. The workload is not too bad, as long as you know how to study from the start. Don't learn how to study once you get to college.

Student Body
A typical student is from Texas, a science, arts, or education major. They typically like someone of the opposite sex and are not too interested in diversity. 50 percent of the girls on campus are average looking and can be found on any campus. 40 percent are above average and would be a nice Thursday night date. The temaining 10 percent can stay the weekend in the dorm any time they would like. But no matter what, everyone is very friendly and knows how to help someone in need. Don't underestimate what an Aggie will do for a person in need.

In Closing...
Go to Texas A&M! Whoop!
