IntroductionBe sure to have tons of money for extra food: the food here sucks. The dining places open and close at random hours for 30 mins or one hour breaks. They even close at night about 4 different times a week. Be sure to carry a dining schedule with you, because you'll never know when they are open or closed. The school has been promising for years that they would allow our meal plans to be used at off-campus locations: they lied. They never have even tried to implement such a system. Rather, they spend over $100,000 on rocks to resemble "stone henge" for absolutely no reason. "Screw the students" seems to be the administration's new motto. The more money they collect from us, they claim we are getting better services. Yes, newer buildings that open 4 years from now might "enhance" life but it isn't doing anything for us now.
Campus Life and Social LifeSocial life is cool. Be sure to live on campus for at least a semester or year. All your friends will come from here. TCU is home to the best looking girls in the world. I'm blessed to look out my window to see every sorority and the prettiest girls in the college world. There's a party about every night, just ask around. Our football team is badass, be sure to head to the home games. Next year, we're going to dominate the Mountain West again. Clubs are almost non-existent. Everyone is very friendly and likes to chill and drink. Weekends are cool, always something going on in the dorms or clubs.
AcademicsWorkload is managable. Best professors that truly care. Hardly any TAs.
Student BodyTypical student seems to be in a frat or sorority, or at least dresses like they are. North Face jacket and trucker hat seem to be the new "greek" outfit. Everyone else is normal, we listen to rock and dance to hiphop. Some pretty expensive cars around here: H2s, BMWs and Mercs.
In Closing...It seems like the administration cares about nothing but themselves and giving the students lame answers about the operations of campus. SGA and House don't do squat even though they like to pat themselves on the back all the time. Nobody really cares about student government and they really don't get much done. Basically they are training to be great politicians: make promises then don't do anything to make implement them. You'd think with all the money we pay to go to this school food operations would be much smoother rather than waiting for 30 mins for a cheesburger or running out of bacon at breakfast.
