Towson Rules All!
IntroductionOne thing I like about Towson University is that it's a university as opposed to a college, which means more majors and more opportunities all around. This used to be a teaching school, but has since grown and is still growing today. In the fall of 2007, Towson accepted an additional 1,000 undergraduates in an effort to expand.
Towson is an exciting campus on a number of levels: it's wireless, it has plenty of new faces and social activities, and boasts a great location with a fun surrounding community.
Campus Life and Social LifeCampus life here at Towson is great. The Student Activities Board always offers something to do on both weekdays and weekends. And there are plenty of clubs in downtown Baltimore if the campus doesn't offer enough excitement for you.
The sports here are also an available and worthwhile pursuit here. In addition to Varsity sports, Towson offers club and intramural sports. Our Club Sports program continues to grow. As of right now, the Surf Club has become the largest club on campus, but others include (but are not limited to) volleyball, ice hockey, badminton, soccer and softball.

AcademicsTowson offers many options when it comes to academics. I am a Journalism major and the professors I've had are terrific. They are generally very willing to help, and some even hand out their home phone numbers.
We don't have many TAs here which is actually great because you get to work directly with your professor. Although the workload is tough, it is manageable and someone is always there to help you, including your classmates!
Student BodyMany of the students attending Towson are from Maryland or New Jersey and to be perfectly honest, the typical student here is a thin, blonde, female. For better or worse, the gender ratio here is approximately 3 females to every male.
The typical female student's life revolves around one of the many sororities offered here, but not exclusively. I'm not in a sorority and I still find activities to participate it.
In Closing...Towson's a great school for anyone, so get your ass over here and check it out! :)
