The Happiest Place on Earth

IntroductionI didn't originally plan on coming here; basically I didn't get into my top choices and Trinity was the best option left. So, needless to say, I was apprehensive upon arrival. Luckily, I had nothing to worry about. The teachers are very welcoming and always willing to help if you don't understand something. The campus is gorgeous -- albeit the surrounding area is rather blah -- and the food is quite good actually compared to what you get at many other college cafeterias. The student body is actually incredibly diverse in terms of interests. We do have a reputation for being preppy, but honestly I find that to be the minority of campus, they just happen to be more prominent. After spending three years at Trinity I couldn't see myself anywhere else. I get to go to small college that's in a big city, which virtually no other college of this caliber can say. My classes are interesting, everyone around me is beautiful, and I love it.
I would say stay away from Trinity if you're easily intimidated (you gotta have confidence to come here, academically and socially) or if you have a problem being in the middle of the ghetto. But if you're smart, have an open mind, and want to have an amazing college experience, definitely check it out.
Campus Life and Social LifeBefore you're 21 or have your first fake ID, greek life rules this campus. There are a few different places to choose from and each one attracts a different crowd. People do throw room parties, but if you are looking to get trashed with a whole bunch of other people, chances are you'll find them at the frats. Older kids go to bars, especially to the Tap, which is right across the streeet from campus. Generally though, everyone has a REALLY good time on the weekends. We work hard, we play hard.

AcademicsYou will never have a class taught by a TA, hence the beauty of a small lib-arts college. Most professors are pretty great, there are, of course, a few awful ones, but you learn who those are pretty fast and then you stay away from them. I wouldn't say that any department is better than any other, I have taken classes in a whole bunch of different areas and been consistently impressed. Workload also depends on the teacher, but if you manage your time well, you can definitely have time to relax.
Student BodyTrinity is mainly white (although that's changing), wealthy, and intelligent. Everyone also pretty much dresses very well, which makes for excellent people watching on the main quad. The majority of kids are from the East coast, about half are from private/boarding school. It does give everyone some common ground, but it can be hard to fit in if you don't come from a similar background. That being said, there's everyone from extreme preppies to extreme hippies on this campus, so there's a group for everyone.
In Closing...Trinity is an amazing place. Excellent reputation for good reason. You won't be disappointed.
