An Quiet Bubble in a Big City
IntroductionI chose Trinity because I wanted to attend a small school with small classes, but I still wanted to be in an interesting, urban environment. Trinity is a good option to consider if the idea of a quiet campus (quiet in every sense of the word—we have almost no parties and fairly limited extracurriculars, and the campus is in a residential section of D.C.) appeals to you. If you're looking for more of a big-school experience, Trinity's laid-back campus vibe won't do much for you.
Campus Life and Social LifeLargely because we're an all-female campus, on-campus partying is nearly nonexistent. Sports are pretty well-represented (we've got soccer, basketball, lacrosse, swimming, and cross-country, and really nice athletic facilities to go with that), and while we don't have a million clubs there are groups attached to various majors and some other interests. Because on-campus activities tend to be so limited, most people go off-campus on weekends ... Catholic U is right down the street, and downtown D.C.'s clubs and other attractions are about 10-20 minutes away on the Metro; Trinity girls definitely learn to take advantage of that.

AcademicsNursing is a very popular major at Trinity, as are related sciences (like Biology), and social sciences (mainly Political Science and International Affairs). Course offerings tend to be a little bit more limited than they are at many other schools, but a lot of our professors are absolutely fabulous. As for TAs, you will likely never see one—our classes are almost always small (they're usually capped at 40 students) and taught by professors. The workload is generally quite manageable (you're going to work harder in something like Bio Chem than you are in Poli Sci), just expect to have a lot of shorter papers (generally 3-10 pages), and a significant amount of reading for certain classes.
Student BodyThe student body is mostly made up of extroverted, work-oriented people; people are usually friendly and focused on their work, both academic and of the internship/part-time-job variety. Because we're so small, everybody essentially knows everybody else, so it's a bit like living in a small town.
In Closing...It's not MIT, and it's not Ohio State, but if you're looking for a quiet place to go to school while still living in an awesome city, Trinity's a good fit.
