For the serious student, not the party animal.

Introduction
If you're not sure what you want to study, Tufts is great. We have a good IR program (so all the related disciplines are strong - political science, economics, language), premed program (again, natural sciences all strong), drama program, philosophy...basically we have very strong undergrad programs unless you want to major in business or finance, which we don't offer. If you want to root for DI sports teams, or watch them, do not come to Tufts.

Campus Life and Social Life
If you really want to party, you can definitely find people who party all the time, but most people do not fall into that category. Weekends start on Thursday night. Frats are active but not numerous. You can go to other schools in the area to party, but getting back is tricky because the T shuts down at 12:30 on weekends. The social life is good considering the size of the school. We don't tailgate football games on weekends like bigger schools (the exception is on Homecoming).
Academics
As far as I know, most of the departments are very strong. Every department has professors that are better than others. The only complaint I've ever heard from students is that we don't have a business or finance / accounting major. TAs vary from class to class. Workload sort of depends on your major. If you coasted through high school, you're not going to be able to do the same here. You're not going to drown, but you will have to go to the library.

Student Body
Although it's not a "large" school, there are 5000 people here. There are lots of different kinds of people to meet, and you won't know everyone after your first year (or second or third). That's not to say you'll be drowning in a sea of people, there's just more to the school than a lot of people realize. The people I knew and hung out with freshman year are completely different from the ones I hung out with sophomore and junior years, and as a senior I'm still meeting new people to hang out with.

In Closing...
Just some updates from theU video. Our endowment is not tiny anymore. It's grown from $880 million to almost $1.5 billion in the past 2-3 years (the president is a fund raising machine). Things are getting a lot better in terms of financial aid, and there's new construction all around campus.
