Tufts is NOT a party central...

Rating: 1/5 (3 ratings)
Introduction
I chose it for the name and because I thought I’d have fun here. I guess the diversity is my favorite thing about Tufts because I feel like a lot of people have differences between them, but it some ways we’re all the same type of person.

Campus Life and Social Life
Some dorms are nice, some are kind of gross. The housing process here is awful. So I’m very negative towards them and I don’t think I’ll ever have anything positive to say about Tuft’s housing, to be honest.
The food’s actually pretty decent here. But you kind of get sick of it after awhile. I feel like we have a lot of options so it’s not so bad.
To be honest, the party scene at Tufts is awful. Everything gets shut down at 2:00 because the police are really uptight about that stuff and so it just seems like your options are limited. You either to frats or you go to clubs in Boston. But going to a club in Boston gets really expensive after awhile. We’re close to Boston but it takes time and money.
Academics
To fulfill the liberal arts requirement you have to do 2 maths, 2 englishes, a world history class, there are a bunch on them and 6 semesters of a language.
Depending on what kind of class it is- my Political Science class, Comparative Politics has over 100 people in it, but then there are smaller classes for English and Math, so my Math class has 30 people and my English class usually has 15 people. So it varies on the subject.
The professors are very accessible and they really try to get to know the students. They’re not just like, “oh, that random person.” They try to get to know you as an individual.

Student Body
I feel like a lot of people here are the people that didn’t get into Ivy League schools and a lot of kids here are pretty pretentious, but it’s really diverse. I was really surprised; there are a lot of international kids here, a high jewish population and a big gay scene.

I’m not too fond of Tufts guys. I don’t really think there is much of a dating scene. I think the girls here a really vicious. Very conceited, Lacoste shirts, they think they’re all that because they go to Tufts, but they didn’t get into Brown…I just think a lot of people here are pretty cocky about who they are.

In Closing...
Definitely housing is my least favorite thing, and basically, don’t come to Tufts if you think you’re coming here to party because it’s not a party school.
