Be Careful of the Dorms....

Rating: 2/5 (26 ratings)
Introduction
It is pretty much a whole party from I would say the week before Mardi Gras to Mardi Gras. You’re pretty much going out every night like staying up until 10am, it’s amazing, you sleep during the day, you party at night. The culture is crazy and everyone’s so warm during that time.

Campus Life and Social Life
I lived in Mo 7, it’s a freshman dorm, it’s 12 stories high. It’s a piece of crap. But I think that helped, though. It joined us all together because we all had to live in this crappy-ass building that the top 2 floors are condemned by the city and I mean, they made it better this year, but last year our bathrooms were crap and our rooms were little. It wasn’t dirty, but it’s not what you’re used to living with. But I think it brought everyone closer because we just had to deal with it. I had a blast, I loved freshman year. It’s really weird because you’ll go down one street and it’s beautiful and there’s mansions and the most gorgeous houses you’ve ever seen and then you go down the next street and you’re in the ghetto with like shotgun houses and it’s really strange I guess how mixed everything is.

Academics
Tulane is a school for people that know how to balance work and play. It’s got hard classes, but you can deal with them. I had a stats teacher that was really it wasn’t hard because it was a hard subject, it was hard because I couldn’t understand him, but you have TA’s. TA’s will definitely help you out. TA's are your best friend. Please make use of them. Just by knowing how to bide your time with everything you do. We don’t have the best sports teams and there’s not really that much behind school spirit. Like not a lot of people go to the games but everyone love Tulane. Like anyone will wear Tulane stuff anywhere you go. They are very proud to come here.

Student Body
There are diff types of appearance I guess and it’s not like you have to be like the model type. It’s pretty much like be confident in yourself and I think confidence is a big thing here and being able to stand up for yourself, that will get you a lot of places anywhere you go. I think appearance is more confidence related. It’s not how you look so much, it’s how you present yourself. People will respect you more if you have confidence in yourself.

In Closing...
There are so many things to do down here. If you’re not into going out and drinking, you can go downtown and find amazing places to sightsee. We have so many things that I don’t even take advantage of. We have so many museums, we have so many diff. Things and this is such a unique city and people really don’t know how valuable this city is, but if you really look into it, you’ll find anything you want to do here.
