Friendly People

Rating: 2/5 (2 ratings)
Introduction
I wanted to try something new because I’ve been in the North my whole life and Tulane was a good school down in the South. It is very easy to meet people here. People are extremely friendly and ready to get to know someone new.

Campus Life and Social Life
The campus is really nice and the weather is really awesome, the food, it’s okay. Cajun style cooking is really influenced down here so everything has a Cajun flavor. I think the city has more to offer with food than the school does. This city is all about going out and spending money on food and bars and everything around here. Tulane itself is safe and around the campus it’s safe, but the city is the type of city you could walk down a safe street and it will be a nice neighborhood and 2 blocks down you’ll be in a bad neighborhood. You just have to be careful and smart and not be dumb and walk alone at night.

Academics
Well the school is known for engineering and architecture and it has a really good pre-law and pre-med program at Latin Studies, is what it’s really known for here. Definitely the science is very hard, I know that and the business is not as hard or challenging, but it has a good name.

Student Body
The Greek scene is not as huge as other Southern schools, but it’s a really good balance like if you’re not involved in the Greek scene, you’re not missing out on anything, and if you are, it’s just an extra asset to being here at Tulane. And you don’t even have to go Fraternity or sorority to be involved in it. It’s really open and it’s not as cliquey as it might seem in other Southern schools.

In Closing...
It’s hard to balance it. If you’re not partying you’re studying, if you’re not studying you’re partying.
