Don't Believe Everything You Hear!

Introduction
Overall, UA is a great school! It can be a little hard to meet people and make friends at first because some of the classes are so large, but the best thing to do is just talk to people. College is all about learning, having fun and trying new things. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there!

Campus Life and Social Life
At first glance, it looks like UA is all about fraternities and sororities, but there are so many other things to get involved in! Write for the Crimson White, our campus newspaper, join an intramurals team or just get some friends together and go work out at the Student Rec Center! Alcohol is abundant on campus, but there are plenty of other things to do! Sports are huge here, especially football! It's fun to tailgate even if you don't have a ticket to the game! Academics
None of the departments are really bad, but some are really great! The engineering, communication and information sciences, business and theater departments are all really awesome! Bama really offers a wide range of classes and degrees, so it's easy to find one that you like! There is even a great office called the Center for Teaching and Learning that will help you decide what you want to major in or what career to go into after graduation.

Student Body
There are so many different kinds of people at UA. There is a lot of great culture and tons of exchange students, too. Don't forget to go have dinner somewhere on the Strip, it's a big part of the social life at UA!

In Closing...
Take a campus tour well in advance of making a decision. Sit in on a couple of classes if you can, tour a resident dorm room and talk to current students. People have different opinions, so look at all aspects of campus life before you pick a school. Good luck and ROLL TIDE!
