Introduction
UC Davis is a classic midwest college town, except it is in California an hour and a half from the beach or skiing. The school is one of the best in the country academically and the town is fun and compact.

Campus Life and Social Life
The greek system is key- if you plan to come to Davis, you should seriously consider rushing a fraternity or sorority. The downtown bars (Sophias, Froggy's, Sogas, Little Prauge, Bernardos and G street to name a few) are popular midweek. Parties occupy the weekends. Advertisement

Student Body
A lot of students come up from Southern California to get the college experience far enough from home to avoid having the parents check up on them every weekend. There are a lot of serious students at Davis, people that take academics as if they matter a lot. The rest of us tolerate these people and they genrally vanish into their studies.
