Quarters aren't just for laundry

Rating: 3.9/5 (19 ratings)
Introduction
The quarter system, at first I really hated it because I transferred. I used to go to a semester system school and it goes by so fast so if you’re not like on top of it you’re totally going to fall behind.

Campus Life and Social Life
What’s weird about UCLA nightlife is that during the week everyone goes out, there are a lot of different things to do in Westwood. There’s different bars, clubs, and then during the weekend is when everyone goes home so its kinds of dead. Kind of more chilled, relaxed, people do errands, maybe hang out with friends. I’m 21 so I go to different bars on the weeknights. You know on like a specific weeknight, which bar is better than others, so you go to those.

Academics
There’s so many things to do here like it LA you know so there’s so many different things to do that me not being in a sorority really like didn’t effect anything. The quarter system was very difficult initial to adjust, but after a couple quarters I’ve adjusted and it definitely has a lot of benefits and I probably prefer it better than semester system. During the weekends its kind of more chill and relaxed, like not that many people out, just doing errands, sleeping, maybe reading a little bit. So it’s kind of weird like that, its like opposite.

Student Body
You have to be 21 to get into the clubs on Sunset, there are some restaurants that you could be underage and go and eat their food and stuff but obviously you have to be 21 if you want to order a drink. I think a lot of students go to Sunset, especially if you’re not part of a fraternity or sorority, you might want to go there instead of partying here.

In Closing...
During the weekends its kind of more chill and relaxed, like not that many people out, just doing errands, sleeping, maybe reading a little bit. So it’s kind of weird like that, its like opposite.
