UCLA's academic programs are highly ranked; most of its programs rank in the top 20 for academic quality in the United States according to the National Research Council. UCLA has won 118 national championships, including 97 NCAA championships, more than any other university in the United States.

Among these championships, some of the more notable victories are in men's basketball. Under legendary coach John Wooden, UCLA men's basketball teams won 10 NCAA championships, including a record seven consecutive, in 1964, 1965, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, and 1975, and an 11th was added under then-coach Jim Harrick in 1995. UCLA seeks its 12th National Championship, and is currently playing in the 2006 Final Four. UCLA has been in more Final Fours then any other school in the nation.

You have to visit UCLA to truly see if it's for you - you must look at all aspects. And even after you have decided it's truly for you, make your application very strong, as the school gets more applications then anyone in the country.

The academics - sit in on a class. Go to a big lecture hall and just sit in.
