hola!
IntroductionUCSD is very geared towards the hard sciences, math, engineering, and then the neurosciences.
I TA Spanish which makes my job fun because a lot of the kids, a lot of the students they are tired of those classes and it’s a lot of memorization. Whereas my class is interactive and taking them away from the things that you know and we’re doing something different.
What happens in the language department, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays they do conversation and that’s what I lea, conversation classes. And on Tuesday and Thursdays they have grammar classes.
Campus Life and Social LifeEven though UCSD specializes in the hard sciences, I would think that a lot of their programs are very strong. I know they have a strong literature program and the linguistics program ranks up there.

AcademicsJust walking around campus you really have to try and look to find ethnic minorities other than. This campus does a good job of recruiting Asian Americans, but with regards to African Americans or Latino Americans, Native Americans, I would say it’s the very, very small percentage.
Student BodyEspecially in the state of California, it’s a very diverse state but that’s not represented on campus. I think in classes students having the ability to hear other people’s perspective and given that that perspective is kind of defined by who they are as an ethnic person.
99% of the student body is Californian, but it’s not representative of California.
In Closing...It’s very beautiful in the sense that it’s spacious, but it’s not very scenic. I think we need more tree. And then the buildings are kind of drab, I know it has to do with the fact that this university was built in the 1960’s. I don’t think it’s very pretty.
