University of Central Florida
IntroductionI chose UCF because it's a big school with a small feel. The campus is small compared to other colleges with the same student body size but all the fun is in Orlando. There's always something going on somewhere. If you like keeping school and fun seperate, this is the place for you.
Campus Life and Social LifeOur sports teams are up and down. This year's theme for football has been "Worst to first!" Our basketball team rocks though and the Rowdy KNIGHTS fan club makes all the games a blast. We have our share of partying and a strong greek community. On the weekends, you can find most of the students downtown at the local bars and clubs. There's a bar for every kind of taste and you don't have to be 21 to get in the door. Our Homecoming has been voted best in the state as well.

AcademicsOur strongest programs are definetly engineering and hospitality management. Our engineering program is top notch. The workload is crazy and about 50% of engineering freshmen end up changing their major, but if you make it, you have an open door to companies like Boeing. The hospitality management program has it's own campus near the resort areas. Most classes for that program are taught by the industry professionals and have a required intership so you graduate with experiance.
Student BodyStudents at UCF come from everywhere. We are all walks of life. Skateboarding is a popular mode of transportation, because we don't have roads on campus. We have punks, preppy people, all races, religions, sexual orientation, etc. but everyone gets along. The student body is very opinionated too though. If their angry at the administration or anyone else, it's not suprising to see protests on the "free speech" lawn.
In Closing...On-campus housing is very limited so most people move off campus after their freshmen year. Students take up almost all the apartments within 10 miles of campus.
