Introduction
You need to do some research before coming here (accidentally) like i did. I chose it because all i knew was that it had a good economics department and that it was in a city i liked.

If you are a normal person who doesn't like to study most of the time, enjoy a good social life, prefers a normal sex life, and enjoys attractive people...then don't come here.

Don't come here for the girls.

Campus Life and Social Life
The sports here are miserable...no one takes athletics seriously. The parties are all pretty lame. Make no mistake, the alchohol here is great, and the cops and administration is real chill with drinking and everything, it's just that the parties suck because not many people party, there are no attractive girls, and most people have no idea how to have fun. Academics
The academics are topnotch. That is why most people came here if they actually did some research. Professors are world-class...economics department is number one in the world...with the most nobel-laureates in its history and currently teaching.

Workload can be tough, depending on how hard you want to make it for yourself. The core-curriculum is rigorous, but one of the trademarks to U Chicago's liberal education.

Student Body
Most students are relatively well off, from the East coast, Midwest, or California. Though, make no mistake the University has incredible diversity, there are students here from every part of the world.

However, most students don't take very good care of themselves, and most are wierd and nerdy in some respect. If you like pretentiousness and intellectuallism come here.

In Closing...
Just make sure you choose to come here...because if you are expecting a fun college experience this place is a mistake. Also if you come here don't expect anything from the opposite sex here. The girls are hideous landmonsters for the most part, and the guys aren't competing for Brad Pitt either (though at least there are some good looking guys)...

One other important note is that the campus is located in south side chicago...that means Hyde Park...that means not the wealthy and nice North side, but the crappy ghetto Southside....our campus is surrounded by urban ghetto. not very much to do within walking distance....though downtown chicago is only a short bus ride away.
