Introduction
I would say primarily the great weather, skiing, snowboarding and I also knew that it was a great university so that’s why I came here. I actually ski and snowboard. I learned skiing and snowboarding in Germany. And the Rocky Mountains were great. I don’t know, improve my skills a little bit more and the now is way better in the rocky mountains than in the Alps.

For the first two years here, I didn’t even have a car and there are always people, first year in the dorms and later like I could always meet up with people and make friends that way too. Now I have a car and we just ride up, 5 people in a car, fully packed and sometimes stay up there for a whole weekend.

I used to row, for Colorado Crew for 2 and a half years. I do Ultimate Frisbee as an intramural sport and indoor soccer and I’m also looking into kayaking now for the summer since the snowboarding and skiing season is coming to an end. Yesterday at a barbeque I met a Kayaking pro who’s going to teach me how to kayak. People around here are very nice and they let you do that.

Campus Life and Social Life
I have a lot of friends who just love rock climbing. Boulder is a Mecca for rock climbing and white water kayaking, all that kinds of stuff. So I would say I spend most of my weekends up in the mountains; go hiking and just the community here like you said is very into outdoorsy stuff. Racially, I would say this is a pretty, don’t want to be offensive, pretty White campus. It’s very international. It’s international in term of they love Europeans here. The Campus is one of the main reasons why I came to this university. It’s just amazing, beautiful, The Flat Irons are here, it’s just at amazing view and I just enjoy being part of campus.
The Flat Irons are the beginning of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. They just shoot up extremely high and they offer great possibilities for rock climbing.

Academics
I currently live in North Boulder. It’s quite far, but it’s not a big problem really, because the public transportation system is extremely good in Boulder and you can even drive, commute to Denver and it’s no problem, you get here really quickly, you can go to the airport. But I can just take one bus from my house which is I’d say probably 15 miles away from here and you can just take a bus straight from my house to the University and there’s 3 buses I can take and the bus run really late at night. And that’s good when you stay out late, go to the bars. My favorite bar’s probably The Reef, that’s a piano bar. They have dueling piano sessions there and it’s always crowded. Tuesdays is anything--$2 anythings.

Student Body
I was really impressed about how well the football team did after the latest scandal. And I’m very supportive of them. I had season tickets the first 2 years and I think the support should actually, like it should be better. It doesn’t seem like CU is like this big football university, but that might change due to the recent success.

When they play, when I used to be in the dorms, we’d get drunk before the games and then we would go out and have a good time but always be responsible and keep it safe and just have a good time. And afterwards we’d go to parties There’s a lot of houses in close proximity to the University where you can find a good party and people will be happy to party with you.

In Closing...
I feel that the population, the student population at CU is very political. I would say strongly liberal. Mainly like Boulder is this liberal island in Colorado. People outside Boulder don’t like Boulder; people in Boulder don’t like the outside. The College Republicans are very active here. They’re the best political organization.

The girls are nice, beautiful, and intelligent and rich.
