Skiing and Hiking
IntroductionI picked Boulder because it was close to home and it’s really pretty around the mountains and CU is pretty well known for its business school. and that’s what I wanted to do, so it was a good choice for me.
Campus Life and Social LifeBoulder is like nowhere I’ve ever been. It’s really relaxed and the people here seem really nice and when people say “Boulder” a lot of people think of hippies, which is true. You’ll see a lot of that but it’s a really cool place, you have the mountains, it’s a really cool town and so there’s a lot to choose from around here. I snowboard and I’ve hiked before and stuff like that. And I like to just go to the mountains and stuff like that. You walk down the street and you can ask anyone to go with you. Most people snowboard so it’s not hard at all. You see people standing on the street with their snowboards waiting for the bus every weekend to go to the slopes.

AcademicsSome students are competitive- you can tell they are really set here to go to school and are really focused. And then there’s other kids that you can tell are just going here just to relax and if they happen to learn then they do. It’s not a big deal to them. Probably, my smallest class is 100 and my largest has probably been 700, so anywhere in between there ranges back and forth. The smallest is 100, though. I’ve never had anything smaller than that.
Student BodyIt’s a pretty big party scene. It doesn’t consume your whole life. Sometimes the media makes it out to be, but you can find a party if you want to on the weekends or even on Thursdays or Wednesdays you can just walk around and there’s always kids walking around and stuff like that. So you can either let it consume your life or else, it’s not all around you all the time, so it’s kind of your choice.
In Closing...The Hill is right across from campus and it’s housing up there, there are all the fraternities and the sororities up there and there’s just a street with a bunch of restaurants and shops and stuff like that. And there’s even signs that they call it The Hill. So that’s where a lot of people hang out on the weekends.
