Great Pick

Introduction
When looking at a college you must decide what type of enviornment you are most inclined to be at home; Uconn is more rural than a lot of college towns, however I believe thats what makes the University of Connecticut so nice. Its strong academic reputation, enviornment, nation-wide sports magnet especially in basketball and football all add to what makes UConn the best public school in the nation.

Campus Life and Social Life
The University of Connecticut is very diverse in nature, many backrounds, cultures and religions make up the UConn community. It is really easy to get along with your peers as well as professors who are even willing in alot of classes to discuss and debate with you after class; the classroom goes outside the general lecture hall into cafes, etc.

Parties are typical part of the university experience, nothing too wild in a few years anyway.

Sports are a big part of the life at the University of Connecticut with big followings of our Division 1 teams in basketball and football, but also ones that recieve less attention such as soccer and riding.

Clubs are again typically, not as followed or participated in as sports, but get a fair sense of attention. Majors, honor societies, service orgs and general interests all make up the clubs at UConn.

Academics
Most departments are strong with tremendous support of the agriculture and science communities...however others such as History, Philosophy, Mathematics/ Statistics and even Political Science and Studies (International, Asian, Latin Ameircan, etc.) are strong.

The professors as noted before are amazing, well most anyway, you get a few that aren't quite up to par with the others, but thats to be expected at any college especially in a research-related institution like UConn.

Student Body
Look above for most social and campus life info, but to add res halls are quite small, but friendly and most people on campus. Weekends are filled with stuff to do from parties to social events put of by the University and major concerts such as Dashboard Confessional, and more and guest speakers like John Stewart...social life is amazing at UConn.

In Closing...
Not mushc to say, but UConn: Great Pick; if I was looking at the application process all over again, I wouldn't choose any other university of the University of Connecticut.
