Relaxed and chillin....

Rating: 1/5 (85 ratings)
Introduction
Down here its kinds of slow and relaxed and everybody’s easy going. It’s very big and it has a lot of different majors and I came in undeclared so it gave me the opportunity to explore all different kinds of majors.

Campus Life and Social Life
I would agree that there are ups and downs as to the University of Delaware. Some ups are that people are normally pretty friendly. You know you meet someone when you go out at a party or something and you know some friends I met when I was a freshman that I still have today. The downside is that its very big so if you’re not looking for a tight group of friends I would say this is a perfect fit for you because I have different friends in different areas, but that’s something that I like and I prefer. I definitely think it’s not as diverse as other different schools, but we do have diversity. There are different organizations for different types of people. I think it’s pretty well balance here so if you’re looking for anything to be a part of there’s definitely a fit for you.

Academics
The engineering program is very demanding, it’s one of the most competitive and I know it takes up a lot of time as opposed to different majors as in education, which is pretty big major here. There’s also a business school and if you want to join the business organization they have different types, different clubs for that as well. The nursing students, they also have a very demanding major. And I know that towards their junior and senior year, they do internships or clinical in the local hospitals. There’s the opportunity after you graduate for Fortune 500 companies within the area, so a lot of people have internships over the summer or during the year with them so they can get acclimated and then after they graduate, they can get a job there.

Student Body
The typical kind of student is someone from around this area, maybe down south around here. They work hard and they know that they have to work hard. And it’s very competitive and if you work hard, you can have a good time.

In Closing...
The ratio is not very even, so there’s 60% girls and 40% guys, so sometimes that can be a little hard at times, but I mean you get used to it and its not that bad.
