A Little Fix Up Here & There
IntroductionThe Univeristy of Houston was my choice because it was close to home and was offering my major, out of plenty of others. If you are not looking to move away from home and stay in Houston or the surrounding areas, this school is a very wise choice. I have visited plenty of other universities and so far the student activites and school spirit seem to overwhelm the school making you a proud student. I never have expericened that at Houston. Also, other than school grounds, the surrounding neighborhood is awful. They need to tear and buy out all the slums and build more duplexes, dorms, and clean the area up. It would allow more students to live closer to school and feel safe at the same time.
Campus Life and Social LifeEveryone seems to be pretty reserved at school. The only way you would I guess "party" every weekend is to belong to a sorority or fraternity. The only other way I have heard about University of Houston parties are through facebook. Once again I think they should build a college living area surrounding the entire school, lets get the school spirit started!

AcademicsThis is at a more personal level. It highly depends on how interested you are in your major in order to determine how much you enjoy it. The professors have been, well, normal teachers.
Student BodyThere seems to be more "cliques" at our school. It seems like everyone stays within their high school friends. I have not met anyone who have moved here from far away to attend this school. Everyone is from the surrounding towns.
In Closing...I recommend the rebuilding of the area around the University strongly.
