Kansas Kicks Ass

Rating: 4/5 (35 ratings)
Introduction
Definitely come ahead of time and hang around Lawrence some, because the town and the college compliment and reflect each other nicely. I came to KU because I loved the atmosphere surrounding campus and the entire town itself; it's a fun-loving, relaxed, well balanced place to live, work, and go to school.

Campus Life and Social Life
The night life in Lawrence is amazing. If you like Greek life, there is Greek life. If you like unfratty house parties, there are tons of those and they are always a blast and almost never get busted by cops. The bars here are for the most part centrally located, which is nice, and are packed all the time. KU basketball games are insane to go to and be a part of, I'd stick our fans against anywhere else any day. Dorms are mid-quality but are amazing to live in, especially if you're just coming to Lawrence for the first time. I think I met about 300 awesome people in my first week of living on campus.

Academics
So far my professors for the most part have been above average; although some of the graders hired for the math department suck. Classes are by no means easy, but as long as you go to class and do the work you'll be alright.

Student Body
There are a LOT of people here from the Kansas City area, as well as St. Louis and Chicago. There are about a million and a half sports clubs and organizations, pretty much whatever you're into, it's here. Pretty much the only thing all the students really have in common is we all like to get down and have a good time (while succeding academically, of course).

In Closing...
You wouldn't think a school in the middle of Kansas could kick so much ass... but then you've never been to Lawrence, have you?
