It's a fun, safe campus!

Rating: 4.9/5 (29 ratings)
Introduction
They have scholarships and loans. We have like a small loan, but we don’t need too much cause we're not paying anything compared to the other schools.

Campus Life and Social Life
They have a spring concert where a lot of bands just come and they play for everyone in Mullins Center, which is the big arena here. So there are a lot of small events. They have events every Friday, I think, and there’s just always something going on here. They make sure of that. It’s pretty easy to find a party. There’s always off campus parties and there are fraternity parties, all the time. The guys on campus: I haven’t found anyone that’s just absolutely amazing but you know it varies, just like any other college, you have to just look.

Academics
There’s 4 other colleges around U Mass and within all those colleges anyone’s allowed to take classes. I mean, someone at Amherst College is allowed to take a class at U Mass Amherst or Holyoke so it’s good because if your school doesn’t offer certain classes you can just go to another one. I have a good amount of work each night but I try to like if I know I have a lot of tests at the end of the week, I try to get my written work done at the beginning so I’m not stressed out.

Student Body
I enjoy living in the dorm for the most part its pretty much an all girls floor, there’s only about 5 guys that live on it. Its not the best, because living with all girls isn’t really an ideal situation but I love the people on my floor. You really get to know people like on a more personal level, so I’m enjoying it. There are 5 different residential areas. South West has the stereo type of just being the craziest, the loudest and Sylvan is the farthest away and I just don’t think people like living up there because it’s so far away from classes and all the buildings and stuff. Then North East has a lot of different cultural buildings. It’s very mixed with the different kind of people that live there. And then there’s Central or Orchard Hill and it’s pretty much you know just like the neutral ones. But South West is definitely the craziest.

In Closing...
Everyone always waits for the bus. They say they come every 15 minutes, they don’t. Sometimes people are late for classes. It takes probably 20- minuets to get to the other side of campus. There’s poles with boxes on them all around campus that are for emergency use if you’re having problems just press the button – there’s a speaker and you can talk to someone through that. Or someone will come out and get you.
