ZooMass, Slamherst

Rating: 4/5 (97 ratings)
Introduction
UMASS Amherst is a good school for kids looking to meet new friends. No need to know anyone coming in, thanks to Freshman Programs (EPOCH, as they are called here).

Campus Life and Social Life
This school has awesome parties, which kids from surrounding schools all attend. Almost every sport is available to students, on a competitive or intramural level. Weekends are crucial for a ZooMasser, although large numbers of kids go home on three day weekends. But there's always something going on.
Academics
Our school's workload is nothing compared to other schools, as long as you keep up. Most classes are an easy A, the Business School is amazing and our Engineering program is the most difficult at the school. Professors come in many varieties and always have TAs with office hours that make them easy to contact and get help from.

Student Body
Our typical student has a 3.0GPA, is pretty outgoing, has a drinking or smoking problem by the end of his/her first semester, and usually enjoys a few sports and school activites on the side of academics.

In Closing...
This is a great school if you're looking to meet people, party and still get a decent GPA. It's not right for everyone, but with an undergrad class of of 20,000, who isn't going to find a niche here?
