Introduction
My advice would be to stay away from this school if you don't have discipline. Discipline is key when going here, but once you master it this will most surely be the best four years of your life. Yes, like any other school there are snooty, stuck up people...but the majority of people Iv'e met here are happy open, smart indivisuals that enjoy a good time.

Campus Life and Social Life
Our football team is coming on the rise. Its awesome to see how much school spirit is here. Even though we had a rough football season last year, seat were sold out every single game. Even if youre' not the school spirit type, after a while you'll start to care. It seems school spirit comes with your class schedule!
I like the social life here, but it took some getting used to. You basically have two options, clubbing or house parties. There are virtually no house parties on campus, so alot of people end up going to a party in a regular or frat dudes off campus house. Theyre fun I guess, Rarely do they ever go crazy, its mostly people standing around or playing beer pong. Ive been to some fun ones though. Clubbing can be out of this world. Ive been to some great clubs and had a great time. This is after all the vacation spot for many :) However, dont do it too much, it will start to get old after a while.

The black house parties are good...but there rarely are any. Im a black student, but I hang with all sorts of people. The black house party scene is mediocre. But theyre some great clubs to make up for it. Advertisement
Academics
Communications is awesome!!! I love it, I really feel like Im getting prepared for my career. In the comm school, youre required to double major which sounds weird but its actually smart because it puts something else on the table when youre applying for jobs. ex: a person applying for a job on CNN wouldnt only have broadcast journalism major, but Political Science major as well under his belt. the alumni network is great also.
Our business and architectures schools are great too, I beleive architectures in the top ten, and business is something good, I forget. I wont forget our awesome musical theatre program ranked at top 5 in the country. I love the plays here theyre amazing.
. My advice :CONCENTRATE. Do not get distracted. They do not spoon feed you here. Its your job to get your work done. If you dont put effort in, you wont get anything out of it. However if you do, youll gain friendships with professors that will last a lifetime.

Student Body
As a black student, I thought coming to this school would be a copy of high school, where everyone hung out with their own race /kind. Its the opposite. Ive met friends from every part of the boat...and world!! the international scene is crazy down here. There are so many kids from different countries. And as for the students from America, theyre reall tight. Everyones open, kind and outgoing. Its pretty hard not to make friends.

In Closing...
I love Miami, but at the same time, I dont believe it is the schoo for everyone. Our school is fun yes, but its difficult to. Have a good stance on your priorities before ebetering this school, because its easy to lose course. If you get in, great!! youll be able to tell all your friends the famous line from LMFAO's song. "Im in Miami B***H!"
