Positive outlook

Rating: 4/5 (2 ratings)
Introduction
When I first got to the University of Miami I was blown away. I’ve never seen a campus that looked this nice. It was more like a resort than it was a campus. When I’m here at the University of Miami I actually feel like I’m on vacation. The weather is pretty good here; it’s normally 80-90 degrees, sunny, light breeze, good for going to the pool all the time. At the beginning of last semester we had a few hurricanes come through, so instead of snow days what I’m used to, we had hurricane days off. That was pretty exciting.

Campus Life and Social Life
I love living in the dorms here. I have been friends with my roommate since kindergarten. If you’re like me and you’re not to keen on going out and meeting new people, living in the dorms forces you to interact with other students and ultimately you end up making new friends that you thought you never would. You become very close to the people on your floor because you live with them, you share a bathroom with them. There are so many places in Miami, I can’t even list all the places you can go to in a weekend. Across the street is a movie theater and a mall. There are lots of zoos here, there’s a monkey jungle not too far. There’s a nightclub if you’re interested in dancing. The fun never stops.
Academics
I am theater arts major in that program we have acting classes, stage management, stage design, set design, all sorts of things that are fun to do. The classes in the theater arts department are normally pretty small, so if you don’t go to class you’re teacher will recognize that you’re not their. So in general it is best to attend class as often as you can.

Student Body
I don’t think you can come up with any typical student look. You can find people dressed up really nice for class, you can find people wearing bathing suits to class, it all depends. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the people here. It’s a great mix of cultures here. You can meet people from any number of backgrounds, any number of countries. Everybody seems to be really nice.

In Closing...
I believe dating here is what you make it, if you’re interested in meeting girls or guys it’s very easy to do so because there are lots of kind, attractive people on campus that are more and wiling and happy to talk back to you if you wish to.
