20,000 MEN TO CHOOSE FROM
IntroductionThis is probably one of the best campus college towns. It’s a great mix, its cosmopolitan, but it also seems like a small Midwestern town at the same time. The size, even though it’s big, it’s not overwhelming.
Campus Life and Social LifeThe football games are definitely something that everyone goes to. The spirit is pretty high, I think everyone gets involved, even if you’re not a sports person. There’s something for everyone in that aspect. Freshman year, frats were very big. Most of the freshman girls mostly go to the frat parties. And then sophomore and junior year, you start going to the bars more. There a lot of good places to go here, not as good as New York. Definitely house parties are good, and there are a lot of good social events to go to as well. There is a good selection of guys here. I think on a campus with 40,000 students you’re going to find someone.

AcademicsThe film program here is very strong because they focus on the undergrads instead of the grads. The psych program is one of the ones biggest here. I don’t think it’s as good as film program, but I’ve been happy with the professors and the course selection.
Student BodyI think it’s a very diverse campus. I think there’s kind of a perception that a lot of people from the East Coast are more closed-minded. Especially from New York or Long Island. But I think that there are a lot of people who aren’t like that. I’ve found great people and great friends, but for some people I think it’s harder.
In Closing...I didn’t really feel like that the size of the campus was a problem because you meet people from the dorm and from classes right away. It kind of makes it seem like a smaller university than it actually is.
