Introduction
If youre considering the U, be ready to be super independent. I chose the U because I wanted a school w/ a really good academic rep, a big city, and a really fun social scene. It most definatley has all three. If youre already hesatent about leaving home for school, avoid the U.

Campus Life and Social Life
There is a very solid social scene on campus. Frat parties are a big social hub, even if youre not part of greek life. Football and Hockey games are a big part of campus, and the hockey team in particular is a big scource of pride in MN. Clubbing scene is pretty decent- Hennepin Ave hosts a few good 18+ clubs. And the Mall of America isnt far away. Boredom is no issue.
Academics
The U has an incredible buisiness program, the Carlson School of Management. The Physical therapy program is also excellent. Both programs are very tough to get into. The U also has great Journalism and Education programs from what i hear. Professors are pretty good, as are TAs. Workload is managable, but you cant exactly skate through it.

Student Body
Student body is HUGE, and full of any type of people you might want to hang out with. Weekends are alot of fun, theres always something to do.

In Closing...
It can be easy to find yourself lost at the U, finding a solid group of friends is the hardest part about adjusting to the big college experience. However the U has separated campuses and departments in a way that makes the school seem a fraction of the size. I love the U, its gorgeous, fun, and there is no other place id rather be.
