Rebel Yell Hell Yes!
IntroductionOle Miss is a social scene. While the university and surrounding town (Oxford, Miss.) may have a lot to offer the more introvertedly inclined (Rowan Oak, Willie Faulkner, huge literary scene, awesome med school, prestigious law school, etc.), overall Ole Miss is a party school. The best part of Ole Miss, is even though we may sound like we are drowning in beer, the students always appear to be southern gentlemen and debutantes. So at least when we get busted for DUI it's in our Lexus SUV. Oh, and we like to drink on the square...a lot (city Grocery, heavy at the levee, pearl street (not for pasta.) All and all, Ole Miss is a great place to spend your four, five, or six years of undergrad
Campus Life and Social LifeParty Hardy....live on campus....rush......and convince your parents to invest in oxford real estate...this place is like the diamond in Mississippi. All and all, Ole Miss is a great place to spend your four, five, or six years of undergrad. In summary UM pivots on Football...grove tents....drunk ppl at the grove tents....and students that never forget to FRAT HARD! Also, Did I mention drunk people and football. Even when the team sucks and our coach is struggling the students pull through with a belligerent HOTTY TODDY.

AcademicsVoted #1 in students who almost never study. Take it for what it is. The truth is, Ole Miss can be more than a party scene. It is ripe with tradition and is home to some truly innovative authors. Needless to say the literary roots are deep here, and for this reason UM attracts a varity of students. Also, for history buffs, civil rights made some big waves on campus when James Meredith enrolled as the first black student at Ole Miss. This univeristy has actually been making waves in general since 1848. Yes, we are old. As for departments, we have an amazing journalism department (most recently featured on ABC News) as well as our forementioned medical school and law school. Biology is a popular major, and it's a toughie, too.
Student BodyWatch for alcohol poisoning...no seriously that sucks.
In Closing...I love ole miss, would not change anything. Proud Alumn.
