A Junior's View
IntroductionI would recommend staying in a hotel for a whole weekend and try to entertain yourself. This should be an big part of your decision because you will need a place to relax outside of school... to make school go easier on yourself. This isn't a very brainy institution so if you want a good challenge and a school focused on that go somewhere else. However if you want football, sports and cold weather this is your school. Also if your not a journalism major expect your major to be overshadowed. The heads of the school seem to forget that as they rip up the campus, next to an empty building, to put in a new building for the j-school, simply because it draws the most out of state students.
Campus Life and Social LifeParties are the same thing every week. Few clubs, mostly for freshman. Not a whole lot of fun. Frat boys frequent those and generally don't dance. There is one gay and lesbian club that many enjoy. Sports take precedent over the town and good luck driving anywhere on those days.

AcademicsThe TA's have an excellent reputation all over campus, for the most part. Professors might be intimidating or busy with research but the TA's are almost always there to help. Haven't had any problems with them. Lecture halls are often overcrowded and overbooked, with many sitting on the floor during test days. (the only days everybody shows up) Technology on campus is notoriously bad for not working when needed, frustrating profs and students.
Student BodyMost from Midwest, few exotics from south coastal areas. Mostly white crowd, not a lot of soul, except in athletic dept. Lots of internationals from the East, many being professors. Math is more difficult if you are not used to heavy accents. Most girls are blond and boys are spiked. Everyone pretty much looks the same. Very few metrosexuals.
In Closing...Unless you have to go here for some reason go somewhere else. I hear the grad school is better than the undergrad level though. Can't confirm.
