UNLV is NOT great

Introduction
Dont choose it unless you want to go down the business or medical line. Everything else is pretty much shit. I cant believe they have aspiring film students here. No offense, but you will be C list for the rest of your life if you so choose to come here.

Campus Life and Social Life
Basketball is pretty big. Football is horrible here. Parties happen, but since the school is surrounded by a ghetto (affordable homes intended for students became occupied by tons of mexicans... TONS). Litteraly its about 5% students living in the surrounding neighborhood.

Because of this, there are rarely any parties since they usually end in shoot outs. If you wanna party you goto outside of the University area, thus need a driver. Even then Hawai'ians will make there way there and ruin it. Two of the frats party from time to time, 5 dollar cover for all you can drink. Problem is that its totaly crowded and the frat houses are one story pieces of crap. Advertisement
Academics
Easy peezy.

Student Body
Listen, i dont care what the review says. This is not an atractive campus. The woman are either fat or ugly. IF they are remotely good looking they go out of their way to intentionaly look fake and whorish. Lets just say you wont find any good looking woman that are real in the wild. THEY DONT EXIST.

Alot of ethnic groups. Its an extremely Politicaly Correct school. You will get you and all your friends brought into the counslerrs if you make an ethnic joke, then they will ask you how you feel and if it offended you (trust me, ive been there).

No one really breaks outside there social group and really revolves around the club scene so the people are that Miami beach type, not southern California type.

Also, there seem to be alot of hawai'ians there and they just like to start problems in hoards. I got into a fight with one, and had like 20 of them come to me. More than that, i didnt even wanna start the fight, i spilt a beer near him and even sincerely apologized. YOu see them, there will most likely be a fight at that party.

In Closing...
If you were homeschooled than you may get a college experience. My roomate thought it was so crazy and fun to party inside the dorms. LOL, even one of my friends went to church the next day because the 'dorm party' was too intense. The populous is extrememely liberal and politicaly correct. If you werent homeschooled, this place will be boring and not exciting at all.

People like to say LA is fake, but that is just an arbitrary side affect of being wealthy in socal, in Vegas its REALLY fake, more fake than LA, and the sad part is that the culture reinforces the fake look. People actually TRY and look and act fake.
