UNCA
IntroductionIf you're conservative in the least bit, this is not the place for you. Known as a "hippie" town, you've got to be open and accepting of all types of people. I love it here, everyone is incredibly artsy, and it's a very chill environment.
Campus Life and Social LifeI'm in a sorority, so that's most of my social life. However, there are only two sororities and one fraternity on campus, so that isn't the majority. Most students find that downtown Asheville is a thriving place for art and music, and the Friday evening drum circle in the middle of downtown is a great place to find many UNCA students. Unless you are 21, the night life is kind of lame, because the majority of clubs have bouncers that don't allow anyone in under the age of 21. It's common to find most students just hanging out on campus, chilling with friends.

AcademicsBeing the only liberal arts school in the UNC system, Asheville places great emphasis on art majors. Music and art make up the majority of studies, and both programs seem to be very good. While psychology is technically the major with the most students in it here, it is one of the worst programs. It's been considered a "joke" among many students. English and literature are both highly rated at this university, as well as mass communications.

In Closing...Asheville is a great campus, has beautiful scenery, and is a fun place to be. However, it's not the place for everyone. Visit, and decide for yourself!
