The good, the bad, and the ugly
IntroductionI came to Notre Dame for the same reason half our school did, because I grew up as a Notre Dame fan. For me there was really no other option. Basically half the people at Notre Dame party and the other half doesn't. By party I mean that people booze pretty hard, bars kinda suck, but theres generally a party goin on and the bars are kinda lax on the whole ID thing. Def. not a school for someone who is into partying hard (like coke and shit), it happens, but def a small minority.
Campus Life and Social LifeThe bars are pretty much what you would expect of a mid sized midwestern town....cheap beers and whatnot, but nothing great. Football games are sweet but theyre getting kind of strict on the whole underage drinking thing--you'll get away with it if you a) dont get beligerent and b) be aware of your situation. Obviously there are no frats, which is sweet cause frats are kinda gay. Weekends basically start whatever night you want, theres always a bar with a pretty decent special. Thursdays thru Saturday get pretty rowdy for people with IDs, Friday and Saturday theres always something goin on. I guess there's stuff to do too if you don't drink, it sounds kind of lame though.

AcademicsArts and Letters is pretty much a joke. Business you have to put some work in. Engineering/architecture are both a lot of work. Basically if you are smart enough to get in (without sports) you are smart enough to handle the work.
Student BodyTypical student works hard and plays hard. People know how to handle their personal life and their school. Most people are kinda religious, drink a lot but also worry about grades and shit.
In Closing...If you're a guy your gonna say the girls suck...complaints include chicks being fat, ugly and prude. For the ladies, they complain that the guys suck...whatever. Basically people here don't have sex, they don't really date and a lot of the liberal (hippies) try to make a big deal of it, although it really isnt.
