Lodge Parties

Rating: 2/5 (36 ratings)
Introduction
Come here if you are driven and aren't afraid to do hard work, but you like to party on the weekends.

Campus Life and Social Life
Frats have lodge parties every weekend, plus socials every now and then and tailgates before football games. Seniors have parties at the apartments. The lodges are on campus and are the main party scene for freshmen...they are essentially a giant drunken dance party, sometimes there are themes too. Before the lodges open up at the begining of the year, off-campus parties are sometimes the only option and it can be hard to get a ride (especially for guys) and they almost always get broken up, but these parties always have the best themes and people really get into them.

Academics
Introductory courses are not always easy, my intro to Sociology class was a ton of reading, and the tests were ridiculous. Sciences are difficult, premed students are permanently stressed out. Political science seems easy, but nothing is a breeze. The best professors I've had have been in the Math and Journalism departments.

Student Body
There is definately a "type" here, since its such a small school. Most everyone is smart, white, northern, well-dressed, attractive, politically conservative, was popular in high school, drinks on the weekends, athletic....pretty much well rounded. Even if you dont fit the stereotype you can find your place here, and everyone is generally accepting of diversity.

In Closing...
Richmond is great, but its seems really small at times, but this creates a closer community. It's work hard, play hard (and make sure you look great doing it).
