USC -- An A-OK Place
IntroductionChoose USC if you want to live somewhere with basic things to do but nothing too special. Other schools have beaches or lakes or whatnot, we have a medium sized city with various normal things to do. It has some great majors, like Journalism and Business. USC is older and thus not 100 percent totally new and technologized, but it does pretty well at keeping up most of the time. My only piece of advice is not to live on campus, live close and off campus instead. Oh, and don't come here if you hate railraod tracks. Working, loud, railroad tracks.
Campus Life and Social LifeUSC is a big school, so they have planned events at the Russel House, various frats etc, and parties in the town. People go to the USC football games, but we aren't all that great.
AcademicsThere is no department that is wonderful or terrible, although certain majors are better than others. If you cannot learn in auditorium classes, do not come to USC. We have some mighty big classes sometimes.
Student BodyThe typical student is from SC and relatively normal, although I think Columbia has a few more blacks than other places in the area, so if you want to go to a "normal/regular public school" but don't want to be the only African American, have no fear at USC.
In Closing...Don't join BGLSA or Student Government, both are relatively useless.
