You can keep it mild, or make it wild.
IntroductionIf you are a high school thinking of attending USC, find a student who's already been there for a while, and has their priorities in order and ask them about their experiences. They could help you with anything from recommending professors, to good food, to student organizations, the best places to meet people. A good "mentor", which I didn't think to aquire, could make a big difference in your adjustment to college life, and perhaps even your grades. I chose USC because it is so historical. It was literally a place of battle in the Civil War, and it has been here since 1801. You have the city all around you and so much to do. You can walk to the state capital in 5 or ten minutes. USC is the place for a well rounded person seeking a well rounded education. If you come to college to foremost drink and party, we probably don't need you and you probably don't need us. If you come to keep your nose in a book, there's probably other places for you. USC is the place for the "whole person" kind of studetnt.
Campus Life and Social LifeWe have clubs ranging anywhere from the Aviation Club, to the White Water Rafting Club, to the Chess Club. Almost anything you can think of is represented at USC. You like football? We love football, and we have Steve Spurier..., 'nuff said. You won't ever hear a roar like over 80,000 USC fans celebrating victory all at once. We have almost every sport represented, if not an officially, intramurally. You can make your own team and play soccer in the mud if you want. Like to work out? We have one of the largest gyms in the country!
Parties: you can party as wild as you want. There are many oportunities on the weekends to do what ever you want. You can keep it mild, or make it wild. I'm not a Greek, but of the dozen or so Greek Mansions, (yes, I'd say they are mansions) well, they know how to party too.

AcademicsWe got the best business school in the country, yeah, the country. Our Political Science deptartment is excellent and is the best in the state. I've had a Geology professor who works on researching global arming worldwide and a Political Science professor who worked for the President of the United states. To say our Professors and Doctors are smart, is a gross understatement. They are influential members of the national communites. The harder you work the more you learn, but you are not going to have to keep your nose in a book to get an education here.
Student BodyMost USC students are from South Carolina, but we have students from almost every country in the world. I got friends from Egypt, Japan, China, India, Saudi Arabia..., and the list goes on. Most of the student are "into" what you'd expect. They stress about the test, and party afterward, but the main idea here is... you're going to find a very diverse student community at USC.
In Closing...I know I haven't said much bad stuff, so here's a quick "suck" list: 8 A.M. Classes, jerks in class, hard professors, really hot days, really cold days, freshman who are just going to flunk out first semester, and getting hit by bicycles on the sidewalk, but other than that USC is pretty cool. You can just go to class and breeze through or you can really get into what USC has to offer, it's your choice. My recomendation: Come to the proud School of the great state of South Carolina, cause here, you'll learn ten times more than what's in your textbooks.
