Artsy Community
IntroductionThere's so many memories on the lawn. Each year we light the lawn at Christmas and just standing there and its snowing and the lawns getting lit up. In the summer people are playing frisbee on the lawn. And for football games you tailgate on the lawn. It's just this gorgeous tradition that has always been here and I love that.
Campus Life and Social LifeCharlottesville's such an artsy community. We have the music, we have the jazz, art galleries. You can always find something different to do besides UVA and I think that's cool.

AcademicsMy freshman year I had about 3 classes, where there were like 300 people and I could still walk up to those professors and talk to them and go see them in their office hours and they act as if you are in a 5 person class with them and they know you by name. All the professors here are so great about you're not a number you're going to be a face and a name. Its the best of the best coming together from high school and its a shock when you first get here, because when we first came here there was 600 Valedictorians from high school. So you come to a new level of competition that you did not have in high school, but its nice it gives you this challenge, you brain is never going to stop working. Its pretty cool.
Student BodyHonestly there's a niche for everyone I've met every type of person at UVA you can imagine. I liked first year living because you're on a hall with 40 girls that are going to be your same age, there the same place you are and its a good place to get started, because you are so much less timid if there's so many people doing the exact same thing you are doing. I love the party scene at UVA. We're less apartment parties and more frat parties. On any given night any frats going to have a party. I love UVA athletics, I'm a huge football fan and I love that we all dress up for the football games and go and support our Cavs. I'm involved in Madison House which is our volunteer organization. I tutor kids at the Salvation Army.
In Closing...Streaking is definitely a tradition at UVA. Before you graduate you’re supposed to streak the lawn. Most people do it in summer when no ones here, its the safe route.
