UWGB Review

Introduction
Do not come to this school! Especially if you are going to go into business. Absolutely worst experience of my life! This school acts like they want to go somewhere, but they never live up to the talk. The chancellor ignores key issues plaguing the campus, car break-ins, women getting attacked, extremely high seg fees, gut churning food provided by Sodexho, rude administration, perverted and drunk business professors who never get fired year after year, sub par housing facilities, and very little school pride. There isn't even a football team. Since it is a commuter school, the campus is dead and boring on the weekends. The people who do stick around either watch television and get depressed or drink until their guts turn into kegs. There are some really good professors in Women's Studies, Psychology, and History if you are interested in those areas. However, it is tough to go to a university just for a couple of great professors when so much is wrong with the school and surrounding area. If you are a woman, check out how many sex offenders live in the Green Bay area. It is gross and creepy! UWGB officials will state over and over again how safe and great the campus is, however they are just covering everything up to protect their public image. If they didn't cover up, how else would they con new freshmen to enroll with there money? UWGB is hurting and something needs to be done fast! New buildings will not cure the problems being covered up. Also, when applying to grad schools, having UWGB on your resume will more than likely hold you back from getting into SOME top programs because UWGB is not on the map hardly at all. In academia, it is all about who is who. If you want to make it into a big program, just be aware that many nationla programs do not know or respect UWGB. It is sad, but that is the truth you should know before enrolling.

Campus Life and Social Life
Green Bay is a drinking town that is obsessed with football. There are a lot of narrow minded people and those people will make it very clear that they do not like your point of view. Weekends are dead. Beer pong is looked at as an Olympic God-sent sport. There are plenty of strip clubs and adult bookstores. I had a few roommates who looked at way too much porn. It is a sad and depressing place to live. I lived in Green Bay for 5 years and I have never had so many bad moments. DO NOT GO TO UWGB! GO TO A UNIVERSITY THAT CARES ABOUT YOU! Advertisement
Academics
Psychology, Women's Studies, History, Music are all great. Business and many other gen ed courses are miserable! In the business department, the chair is too old and cranky, I had a marketing professor who got arrested for soliciting prostitution in Milwaukee, an economics professor who could not write clearly or teach-on tests a C was 45%, a professor who watched us do homework during class because she was too lazy to teach, a stats professor who chronically lost his voice so he would play tapes of lectures and point at the board instead of cancelling class-how can you learn something if the professor never talks, especially stats!, two accounting professors who were cranky and would pick on you if you got something wrong-one said that he got into accounting because he was a poor orphan boy and accounting made him wealthy, Yeah!!?, another professor would yell at students to turn off cell phones and then his cell phone would go off-lead by example, a marketing professor had 1 hour and 15 minutes to teach us and he cut the class short by 45 50 minutes because he was not prepared to teach for the day--sounds great but then at the end of the semester he had the nerve to state that the whole class had not participated enough during the semester and that none of us would be getting full points for participation-how are you supposed to participate a lot when you are only in class for 25-30 minutes?, here is some advice, teach and participate in your own class since you are getting paid, right? But the worst of all was my advertising and marketing professor who would either come to class drunk or cancel class because he was drunk. He thought he was hot stuff because he drove a Mercedes and wore expensive shoes. When he did try to teach, he would reference Playboy, swear, and degrade women over and over again. The faces on the female students in the class said it all-he needed to be fired! However, semester after semester went by with students complaining and nothing was every done to get rid of that jerk. You see, UWGB acts like it wants to get on the map, but when you allow all of this stuff to continually go on, there is only one place for UWGB and that is at the bottom of the rankings. Sad, but true.

In Closing...
Don't go to UWGB. Too many problems, not enough people willing to give a damn and change. Prove me wrong.
