Freshman living off campus...

Rating: 1/5 (59 ratings)
Introduction
I chose UWM because we have an awesome nursing program and frankly, because I could get in. It's not as big as you would think being in a big town like the Mill, for me it's perfect. I'm not a fan of walking a mile to get to class... or having all of my classes in the same building. If you want a big city school... look elsewhere. While looking at UWM remember where you plan to live. The neighborhoods around are good and bad, make sure you check them out. I hear dorms are good ... but I'm not much of a dorm girl, I drank a lot in highschool and the 2 beer drunk slutty girls running around just aren't for me... so look at your neighborhood and tour our awesome campus :)

Campus Life and Social Life
Get a fake ID. House partys aren't that cool... crowded and hot, but the bars rock. Drink specials every night of the week. Dollar pitchers on Thursday. Thursday nights are the big going out nights, so make sure Friday morning is open.

Academics
It's honestly not that bad... TAs can be hard to understand but there is always help available. The hardest thing about lectures though is that they don't take attendance, so it is soooo easy to skip. If you need to have someone take your attendance and grade you on it, UWM defintiely isn't the place for you.

Student Body
Very diverse... more than i am used to growing up in a town of 4,000... but good, I really like it.

In Closing...
Busses suck! Find parking and bring a car!!
