Valpo Blows
IntroductionValpo is a great school when it comes to studying and a "value" education. But where it lacks is it's value of a good time!!! There is rarely anything that would satisfy a person's party needs. The campus police look for the drunken student , instead of solving real crime and protecting students (first hand experience). Also, this is a DRY campus.
Campus Life and Social LifeSocial life and campus life is relatively non-existent! The intramural program tries to generate a decent number of sports and participation through its program. Really, though - social life is very limited. Not only because of a small greek system and rules reguarding it, but also the DRY campus. In addition, Valparaiso is a small town (although some would call it "up and coming"). The best advantage is that Chicago is less than a hour away. The University makes great attempts to have something going on besides Greek parties. There is usually some sort of event every weekend that draws student population to give them an alternate idea and event to attend.

AcademicsAcademics are the one real strength of this school - they really are great. High standards, great profs, great degree programs. The name in the diploma will get you far (Editor's note: "Valpo" is extremely well-known regionally).
Student BodyOur typical student is very well rounded, not so much the partier but there are some. There is a slightly higher female to male ratio, and the student population is very diverse.
In Closing...Valpo is great for academics and the name on your degree, but to get the "full" college experience it is definetely not the best...
