Go 'Dores!
IntroductionYou need to come visit to fully understand why everyone loves Vanderbilt so much. Once you visit you won't even consider another school. I applied early decision without even considering other schools. Everyone here is very social but academic at the same time. Weekends start on Thursday and don't end until you're reliving what you did in Monday morning's 8am class.
Campus Life and Social LifeThere is nothing bad about Vanderbilt social life. In the fall there are football games... and we tailgate like it's our job. Frat parties are fun and the majority of students live on campus so there is always someone willing to go out with you. You can live in singles, doubles, triples or apartment style housing with 4-10 people. If you're not in a fraternity/sorority, don't worry, chances are you will know someone that is and you WILL get invited to all sorts of parties.
AcademicsOur academics are rated high in all areas and our professors are top-notch. They all know what they are talking about because chances are they're a leading researcher in the field or they've written a book about it. The TA's are awesome and they are always available to help you... sometimes you can even see them out at parties or at the bars. The Peabody College of Education and Human Devolpment rarely has classes on Fridays but it's really easy to manipulate your schedule so you won't have class on Friday, or you don't have to get there until after noon.. becuase let's face it, you WILL go out on Thursday night.
Student BodyThere are a lot of Southern people, but people are from everywhere. The girls are more attractive than the guys, but that's okay, because the guys make up for it with their gentlemanly manners. Greek LIfe makes up about 50% of the Student Body, but there are clubs and groups for everyone on campus. Everyone is involved in at least one extra-curricular activity and there is always something going on around campus.
In Closing...Vanderbilt is so beautiful and you will love it. "Vandy Vandy oh Hell Yeah!" School spirit is everywhere, so be sure to pick up a Vanderbilt T-Shirt for the first day of class!
